Learning Assistant Plan
The University of Montana Learning Assistant (LA) Program gives undergraduate students who have successfully completed a course an opportunity to render to that course every bit a Learning Assistant.
Working closely with the grade teacher and taking a seminar in show-based learning practices designed specifically for them, Learning Assistants become well-versed in enquiry-based instructional strategies, and they talk over their experiences with other Learning Assistants effectually campus. The grade instructors collaborate with the Learning Assistants in weekly meetings where they talk over course materials and provide feedback to i another.
LA's are classroom volunteers, merely they are able to earn up to three upper-division credits, which can go towards experiential learning requirements.
Once the student has completed the Learning Assistant Plan, they have the option to movement on to be a Learning Banana Mentor. This role helps new and electric current LAs with their programs, leads the weekly seminars, and assists in the recruitment and option of the next set of LAs. Mentors can earn a stipend of $500 per semester.

MontanaPBS Graduate Assistantship
University of Montana Early Babyhood Education graduate student, Jordan Parker, will serve as a graduate assistant with MontanaPBS. In this role, she volition help create content for PBS LearningMedia.
The PBS LearningMedia is a complimentary resources for Montana teachers that contains a repository of resources that can be used in classrooms. MontanaPBS wanted to start an initiative to create videos and classroom materials for teachers around the land.
MontanaPBS is partnering with Academy of Montana and Montana State University graduate students to perform a needs assessment and decide what content and digital resource will be most useful. Based on the teachers' specific needs, they will and so create original, digital content to be tested in the classroom.
One time the content has been shared and tested in the classroom, both the teachers and students volition provide feedback based on how it went. This allows for the program to meliorate for the next academic year.

Academy of Montana Safe Schools Center Receives $ane Million Grant
MISSOULA – Montana is all-time known for its towering mountains and miles of open space, and its rural nature is the reason many people choose to live, work and play in the state.
